Ministries & Missions

Children’s Ministry

Our Children’s Programs begin at birth and carry our students through sixth grade. We are careful to design age appropriate and engaging ways to teach our children the foundations of Christian Life. We are committed to following Jesus’ example of welcoming the children into all areas of church life as we work to emulate the family of faith.

Memorial Baptist Preschool

TMBC Preschool works to create an environment where children feel loved and grow in God’s love. We do this by providing a half-day, developmentally appropriate, early childhood program 15 months through PreK.

Youth Ministry

Our Youth program includes 7-12 graders from many different schools in Pitt County. We take part in activities and events that help us grow closer with Christ in our faith journeys and in our relationships with each other.

Bible Study Opportunities

Several different Bible studies are available throughout the year. Our Women’s Bible Study meets Tuesday mornings at 9:30 am.  Dr. Brad Smith’s Wednesday Night Bible Study is open to all adults and begins at 6:15 pm.  These studies consist of themes and series that last a few weeks before moving on to a new idea.  Concentrated studies, such as Parenting studies, are offered at various times.

J.O.Y. Group

Formerly our Senior Adult/Retiree Group, the J.O.Y Group strives to meet at least once a month for times of connection and fellowship.  Meetings generally consist of a meal and a guest speaker.  This group also goes on several trips each year to places of interest.

Music and Worship Arts

The Music and Worship Arts ministries of The Memorial Baptist Church are built on a rich heritage. Throughout its long history, TMBC has employed music and the arts in the worship of God, in spiritual formation of people of all ages, and in communicating the Gospel.

“We believe God has blessed all of Christ’s followers with special gifts to be used for missions & ministry. Our church seeks to constantly encourage each believer to discover their gifts and to put them into practice.”
