Give

At TMBC, we believe that true Christian generosity doesn’t begin in the wallet. It begins in the heart. It begins in that deeply personal and inward place where we recognize and respond to the extraordinary generosity of a loving God. Your gifts to TMBC help the church equip, prepare and send disciples to share the love of Christ with others in this community and around the world. Contributions help pay for our gathering place for all of us to worship, learn, and grow together. Your generosity helps our church family to live out the great commission to, Go make disciples of all nations.

This method of giving saves TMBC money because it avoids the service fees associated with the on-line method of giving.

Legacy Giving

Legacy giving is about including God and TMBC in your estate plans. For many people, a gift to the church from their estate answers this question. Their legacy gift becomes their final statement about God’s place in their lives. For more information email us at info@tmbc.org

Why do we give?

We believe that God is the generous giver of all things and we should be good stewards of that generosity through the giving of our time, talents and resources. God desires our complete trust but this can be especially difficult when it comes to our money and possessions. Instead of trusting, we tend to hold on tightly to these things, which reflects that our trust lies in ourselves and not completely in God. Learning to give frees us from greed and self-sufficiency, giving us a chance to experience God’s faithfulness in a very real way.

What is a tithe?

Simply, a “tithe” means a tenth part. Giving a tenth of your income to God’s work before you do anything else – what the Bible refers to as first fruits – is an important way to exercise your trust in God’s provision. Even if you feel you can’t give 10% right away, you are encouraged to take a step in trusting God by setting another percentage (from 1-9%) that you give each month as first fruits.

TMBC’s Taking the Next Step Generosity Initiative is an opportunity to discover the joy of growing in your relationship with God as you experience living generously in your personal walk and in service to others. This promises to be a transformational time in the life of TMBC. Will you take the next step?

The focus of Taking the Next Step is on our need as a follower of Jesus to give rather than the church’s need to get. You will not hear about next year’s budget or the financial needs of the church. You will hear what God has to say to us about giving, about the foundational giving principles of the Bible and how your life and faith will be impacted as you take the next step in the Giving Path.

How much do you need to give? That’s between you and God. We believe our success lies in the spiritual growth of each person as they respond to what God wants for them. Prayer should be the focus as you seek the answer to this question: “Lord, where would You want me to be in my giving?”

The Giving Path

As we walk on the Pathways to Generosity, we are moving forward in our spiritual journeys to be more like Christ. Jesus said, “where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

The Giving Path can also be utilized to measure the time and talent you offer to God and His church. Begin by attending or volunteering in a new activity at TMBC, increase the amount of time and talent you are offering until your life and those around you are transformed by your generosity.
