We believe God has blessed all of Christ’s followers with special gifts to be used for missions & ministry. Our church seeks to constantly encourage each believer to discover his/her gifts and to put them into practice through missions and ministry opportunities.  Our missions ministries are organized into local, multi-cultural, & global teams.

Local ministry involves church programs as well as our Benevolence Food Pantry, Operation InAsMuch, and partnerships with local agencies like the Food Bank of NC, Ronald McDonald House, and Greenville Homeless Shelter to name a few.

Our church houses two additional congregations.  A Chinese congregation meets on Sunday mornings at 10:45 AM for worship and Bible study while a Hispanic service is held on Sunday afternoons at 4 PM.

In the global arena we are striving to expand our vision and emphasis.  We have had teams travel to Honduras & Africa, as well as Disaster Relief teams to clean up after natural disasters across the United States and beyond.  The Memorial Baptist Church also sponsors a missionary in India. Each Christmas we partner with Samaritan’s Purse to send shoeboxes filled with little goodies to children all around the world.

If you would like more information about our mission ministries please call the church office @ 756-5314.

We believe God has blessed all of Christ’s followers with special gifts to be used for missions and ministry:

Angel Christmas Tree Ministry

This ministry is sponsored by Mission Possible Kids. The children decorate paper angels and place them on the tree with information about children in need during the Christmas season.

Backpack Buddies

Each week TMBC provides food for the weekend to children in need at Eastern Elementary School.

Christmas Card Ministry

In hopes to share the love of Christ with soldiers at Christmas, TMBC collects and prepares Christmas Cards throughout the year to send to a naval ship for Christmas day.

Food Pantry

The Food Pantry offers food assistance to the community on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month.

This ministry seeks ways to serve students attending East Carolina University and Pitt Community College.

Disaster Relief and Recovery

Utilizing TMBC’s disaster recovery trailer, this program is an integral part of the N.C. Baptist Men Disaster Relief Program, which is active locally, regionally, and nationally. As a local ministry, this group builds ramps for wheelchair access.

Knitting with Nat Ministry

This group, which meets every Wednesday morning, welcomes those with any skill level of knitting or crocheting. Items made include hats for troops and babies, prayer shawls, and baby blankets.

Line Dancing

Open to everyone of all ages, community line dancing meets every Thursday night for one hour.

Prayer Quilt Ministry

This group makes and provides quilts for individuals with special prayer needs. Quilting experience is not required.

Operation Christmas Child

A ministry of Samaritans’ Purse, this mission project uses gift-filled shoeboxes to demonstrate God’s love to needy children around the world.

Street Fair Ministry

This ministry seeks to minister to groups not typically on the traditional church radar—fair and carnival workers. Participants partner with other churches in our community to meet both the physical and the spiritual needs of these workers while working in Pitt County.

Woman’s Missionary Union meets in homes the second Tuesday of each month to study about missions and complete mission activities.

Mission Trips

TMBC offers volunteer opportunities to serve in a variety of ways and places outside the US, such as Haiti, Guatemala and Honduras.

Regardless of background or skills, God has a place you can serve.
